ଗଛ ଆମର ବହୁତ ଉପକାରୀ । ‘ବୃକ୍ଷରୋପଣ’ ର ଅର୍ଥ ଗଛ ଲଗାଇବା । ଗଛରୁ ଆମେ ଫୁଲ ଫଳ ପାଇବା ସଙ୍ଗେ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଆମେ ଜାଳେଣୀ କାଠ ମଧ୍ୟ ପାଉ । କାଠ କୁ ପଟା କରି ଆମେ ନାନା ରକମର ଆସବାହପତ୍ର  ତିଆରି କରୁ ।  ଗଛ ପତ୍ର ଝଡା ହେଲେ ସେହି ପତ୍ର ଆମ ଜମିରେ ମିଳାଇ ଯାଇ ଖତ ରୁପେ କାମ କରେ । ଅଙ୍ଗାରକାମ୍ଳ ଆମ ପୃଥିବୀ ପାଇଁ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ କ୍ଷତିକାରକ ଅଟେ । କିନ୍ତୁ ବୃକ୍ଷ ତାର ଖାଦ୍ୟ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ପାଇଁ ଏହି ବାଷ୍ପ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରେ ଓ ସବୁଠାରୁ ମୂଲ୍ୟବାନ ଉପାଦାନ ଅମ୍ଳଜାନ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରେ । ଯାହା ଆମେ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରି ଜୀବିତ ରହୁ । ବଣରେ ବହୁତ ଗଛ ଥିବାରୁ ମେଘକୁ ଟାଣି ଆଣନ୍ତି । ଫଳରେ ବର୍ଷା ହୁଏ । ବର୍ଷା ପାଣି କୁ ସଞ୍ଚୟ କରି ଆମେ ଚାଷବାସ ରେ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରୁ । ଖରା ଦିନରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଗଛର ଛାଇରେ ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନିଅନ୍ତି । ଯାହା କି ଆମକୁ ଅଂଶୁଘାତ ରୁ ବଞ୍ଚାଇଥାଏ । ଏଣୁ ଗଛ ଆମର ଅନେକ ଅନେକ  ଉପକାର କରେ । ତେଣୁ ଆମେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଗଛ ଲଗାଇବା ଦରକାର । 

ପ୍ରଥମେ କେଉଁ ଗଛ କେଉଁ ଜମି ରେ ଭଲ ବଢିବ ତାହାର ଚୟନ କରିବା ଦରକାର । ବାଲିଆ ମାଟି ରେ ଝାଉଁ, ବାଉଁଶ, କାଜୁ, ଖଜୁରୀ, ନଡିଆ, ତାଳ, ଇତ୍ୟାଦି ଲଗାଇବା ଉଚିତ । କଦଳୀ ଗଛ ଓ କିଆ ଗଛ ଜ୍ୟେଷ୍ଠ  ମାସରେ ଲଗାଇବା କଥା ।  କୃଷି ବିଭାଗ କୁ ବୁଝି ଆମେ ଗଛ ଲଗାଇବା ଉଚିତ । 

ଗଛ କୁ ଖାଲି  ଲଗାଇଦେଲେ ଚାଲିବ ନାହିଁ। ପୋତା ହୋଇଥିବା ଗଛକୁ ନିୟମିତ ପାଣି  ଦେବା ଉଚିତ । ଗଛ ଗୁଡିକ କୀଟ ପତଙ୍ଗ ଠାରୁ ବଞ୍ଚାଇ ରଖିବାକୁ ପଡିବ ।  ନିୟମିତା ଗଛ ଗୁଡିକର ଯତ୍ନ ନ ନେଲେ ଗଛ ଗୁଡିକ ମରିଯିବାର ସମ୍ଭାବନା ଅଛି । 

ଗଛସବୁ ଆମ ପରିବେଶ କୁ ନିର୍ମଳ ଓ ଶୀତଳ ରଖନ୍ତି । ତେଣୁ ଆମ ପରିବେଶରେ ଗଛ ଲଗାଇବା ଉଚିତ । ଆମେ ନିଜେ ଗଛ ଲଗାଇବା ସହ ଅନ୍ୟ ମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗଛ ଲଗାଇବା ପାଇଁ ବୁଝାଇବା ଦରକାର । ଏହା ଆମର କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟ ଓ ଏଥିରେ ଅବହେଳା କରିବା ଉଚିତ ନୁହେଁ।
